Sheldon L. Harris

    Sheldon L. Harris, 74, Winchester, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Randolph Nursing Home in Winchester. 
    He was born June 6, 1940, in Union City, to the late Rexford and Kathleen O. (Lorton) Harris. 
    Sheldon was a graduate of Ward Township High School in Saratoga and had been a past farmer in the local area. Sheldon was a member of the Winchester Congregational Christian Church and was a past board member of Farm Bureau. He belonged to the Star Farmer and American Farmer. He was active in the Randolph County Antique Tractor Club and the Rural Couples. Sheldon enjoyed going to auctions and anything that was John Deere.
    Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Frances L. (Wysong) Harris of Winchester; a son, Bart (Amanda) Harris of Geneva; a daughter, Sherri (Mike) Ritter of Ethiopia, Africa; five grandchildren, Jessica Sutton of Monroe, Jon Ritter of Auburn, Jessica Ritter of Auburn, Ashley Harris of Geneva and Benjamin Ritter of Ethiopia; two sisters, Carol Hinkle of Winchester and Sue (Allen) Baker of Fairfax, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. 
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, with Pastor Rob Butler officiating. 
    Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
