The second round of the Class 2A sectional at the South Adams Stardome in Berne will be played on Friday, with four teams in action:
    •At 6 p.m., Adams Central (13-7) will play Bishop Luers (16-4).
•After that game, Bluffton (14-6), which beat South Adams on Tuesday, will take on Woodlan (2-18).
Friday's winners will play for the sectional title at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Bishop Luers, which won the Summit Athletic Conference title in Fort Wayne for the first time this year, also won the Class 2A state championships in 2008 and 2009. The Knights have two Division One basketball players (senior Evan Blackmon and freshman James Blackmon Jr.) and one D-I football player who is also very good in hoops (senior Kenny Mullen).
AC counters with the best team it has had in many years. Even a loss on Friday would tie the school's record for the fewest losses in a season since the mid-1970s.
The Flying Jets are led by 6-5 junior Maverick Baumer at 15.4 points a game, six rebounds a game, and 42 blocks (two per game). He also leads in free throws at 87.3% and makes 58% of his two-point shots and 43.6% of his three-point shots. He has gotten numerous dunks this year, including three off of alley-oop passes from senior guard Busse.
AC gets 10.6 ppg and four rpg from 6-2 sophomore Dalton Combs, who makes 74% of his free tosses, 48% of his two-pointers, and 41% of his three-pointers. He has 28 assists.
Busse puts up eight points a game and leads the Jets with 33 steals.
Sophomore guard Isaac Luginbill averages 6.5 points a game, makes 79% of his FTs, and has 42 assists.
Junior guard Keaton Fiechter scores five points a game and leads the squad in assists with 58, while stealing 24 times. He also sinks almost 79% of his foul shots.
Junior forward Kyle Fawcett adds six ppg and 3.3 rpg and has 25 assists.
