Schools awarded safety grant funding

A portion of the $50,000 awarded to North Adams will pay the salary of school SRO Kriss Affolder.

    The three school districts in Adams County have been awarded a total of $110,050 in Secured School Safety grants to fund School Resource Officers and make other security equipment upgrades.
    Indiana Governor Mike Pence announced more than $9 million in grant funding to local schools and school corporations through the statewide program. The Indiana Secured School Safety Board approved the grants.
    North Adams Community Schools was awarded $50,000 in grant funding, while Adams Central Schools received $38,450 and South Adams Schools was awarded $21,600 in grant funding.
