The Northeast Hoosier Conference released its list of All-Conference girls basketball teams this week with one Bellmont Squaws player making the list amongst 27 total recipients.
Courtney Scherer, the lone senior on a Bellmont team that struggled this season going winless, made honorable mention along with four other seniors, freshman Lanie Allen from East Noble, and sophomore Skylar Ostrowski from DeKalb.
Homestead placed four of their five starters on the first team after sweeping through the NHC this season. Senior Sydney Buck led the list as the top vote-getter, while junior guard Josie Fisher, junior center Grace German, and freshman Karissa McLaughlin also were on first team for the Lady Spartans.
Stephanie Conrad of Norwell made the list as a sophomore, the only other underclassman, while Kourtney Edwards of East Noble, Macie Hinen of Columbia City, Haley Martin and Baylee Rinehart of DeKalb, and Maddy Peterson of Carroll rounded out the first team selections.
Laken Chaney, Hanna Smith, and Kaycee Strunk each were nominated on the second team for Norwell, while Columbia City garnered two more spots for Emily Whiteleather and Aubrey Wright. Also on the second-team list was Kaven Edwards and Kerri Schrock from East Noble, Haley Fox from New Haven, Brooke Leins of DeKalb, and Kierstin Murphy of Carroll.
