Sandra L. Liechty

     Sandra L. Liechty, 69, of Berne, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Swiss Village Nursing Center.
    She was born in Adams County on December 4, 1942, to the late Gerald G. and Evelyn L. (Kohls) Strickler.
    Sandra married E. Steven Liechty on January 9, 1960.
    She was a member of West Missionary Church in Berne, where she was a Sunday School teacher for 20 years; was active in Bible School for many years; was Junior Quiz Coach and was in charge of Wednesday evening Missionary Cadets. Sandra worked as a homemaker.
    Among survivors are her husband of 52 years, Steve Liechty of Berne; daughter, Teresa “Terri” Liechty of Fort Wayne; three sons, Scott J. (Marlene) Liechty of Midland, Mich.; Troy S. Liechty of Fort Wayne; and Rev. Brent C. (Loretta) Liechty of Jackson, Mich.; sister, Geralyn “Lyn” Strickler of Decatur; and seven grandchildren, Steven, Kristen, Lauren, Megan, Laurelei, Susanna and Gabriel Liechty.
    She was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Kelley; a brother, Tom Strickler; and two grandchildren, Marissa and Katelyn Liechty.
    Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
    Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 26, at West Missionary Church, Berne, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Keith Rupp will be officiating.
    Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to Samaritan Fund at Swiss Village and West Missionary Church.
