Special fundraising certificates to finance Decatur's 175th anniversary this year have been printed to mark the number of $10 shares sold. The first buyer, paying $100 for 10 shares, was Mayor John Schultz.
Complete Printing Service business designed and printed the certificates.
Hoosier Pattern is making survey markers about Decatur which can be purchased, with profits donated to the celebration, organizers said.
Meanwhile, Ryan Salway designed a 175th anniversary logo at his Ryan David Designs business in Decatur.
People who wish to buy shares and get a certificate should call Larry Isch: 724-7429. Isch and Max Miller are co-chairmen for the celebration.
A 175th anniversary booklet will be sold and anyone who wishes to advertise in it should contact Isch.
The celebration will held August 19-28, in conjunction with the annual Kekionga Festival.
