S. Adams announces slate for basketball sectional

    South Adams A.D. Mike pries has announced the slate for the 2A South Adams Girls Basketball Sectional slated next week in Berne. He also notes some changes made in the athletic slate because of the weather.
    The first game of the SA tourney will feature one of the top teams in the state in Bishop Luers. They will meet Bluffton at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8.
    The tourney then goes to the semi-final round on Friday, Feb. 11. Woodlan will take on the Lady South Adams Starfires in the 6 p.m. game while Adams Central will meet the winner of Game 1 in the 7:30 p.m. semi-final.
    The title game will be Saturday, Feb. 12, at 7:30 p.m.
    Officials for the contest will be: Jeff Jackson and Robert Voss of Muncie, Brad Warner of Anderson, Jeff Lytle and Ronnie Branch of New Haven and Phil Teusch of Fort Wayne.
    Single-game tickets will be $6. Tourney tickets will cost $10.
    The South Adams girls varsity basketball game with Manchester has been postponed until Saturday, Feb. 5, with a 1 p.m. start time for the jayvee contest.
    Adams Central will also have a makeup game on Saturday with Norwell.
    Pries also announced that the Jay County Girls Swim Sectional, preliminary round, will be held tonight at Jay County starting at 5:30 p.m. The finals will be Saturday at Jay.
