Ruth Nicodemus

    Ruth Nicodemus, 90, of Decatur, passed away at 4:10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at her residence.
    Ruth was born Monday, January 8, 1923, in Adams County to the late Frank and Allie (Myers) Knittle.
    She married Noble Nicodemus on September 16, 1950, in Decatur; he survives.
    Ruth was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Decatur and American Legion Auxillary Post 43. Ruth was a homemaker, and had worked at Decatur General Electric, Decatur Casting, CTS in Berne
    Among survivors are her daughter, Linda C. Nicodemus of Decatur; son, Roger D. Nicodemus of Lansing, Mich.; and sister, Betty Fisher of Fort Wayne.
    Ruth was preceded in death by six brothers, Kenneth, Dale, Mart, Donald, Chalmer, and Lawrence Knittle; and four sisters, Mary "Peggy" Smith, Agnes Helmlinger, Myrtle Bricker, Mildred Manley.
    Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 24, and noon-1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Michael Heindbaugh officiating.
    Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
