Ruth A. Gage, 73, of Decatur, died at her residence on Wednesday, June 13, 2012.
Ruth was born in Adams County on October 20, 1938, to the late Alfred and Rose (Faurote) Rauch.
On May 31, 1958, she married Theodore W. “Ted” Gage; he preceded her in death on April 7, 2006.
Ruth was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Women of St. Mary’s. Ruth was also a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mom, gran, sister and aunt, full of life and faith and she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include a son, Ron (Janette) Gage of Decatur; three daughters, Joan (Tom) Hiemstra of Decatur; Joyce Colligan of Fort Wayne; and Janet (Stan) Bebout of Decatur; two brothers, John (Marie) Rauch of Monroe and Alvin (Angie) Rauch of Decatur; four sisters, Phyllis (Frank) DeKoninck of Fort Wayne; Leona (Leonard) Lengerich of Decatur; Loretta (Louis) Rumschlag of Decatur; and Harriet (Ken) Schwaller of Monroe; three sisters-in-law, Vera Rauch of Decatur; Dorothy Gage of Decatur; and Eileen Gage of Lady Lake, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Drew and Aly Gage; and Allison, Sarah, and Stephen Colligan; and Zach Loubier.
She was preceded in death by three brothers Homer, Charlie and Bill Rauch.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday, June 15, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 1:30 p.m.
A 9:20 a.m. prayer service will be on Saturday, June 16, also at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father David Voors officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
