The Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert, Ohio, on Tuesday evening welcomed the State Ballet Theatre of Russia in its classical telling of “Cinderella.”
The story line follows a poor, orphaned child who lives with her two step-sisters, Skinny and Plump, and a step-mother. Cinderella is portrayed as a giving, kind-hearted young lady who took an old beggar woman off the streets and mended her with food and water.
Cinderella was rewarded for her kindness from the woman — who turned out to be the fairy godmother — by being turned into a beautiful princess.
