Russell C. Jones

    Russell C. Jones, 100, formerly of Hoagland, died at 6:18 p.m. Saturday, December 25, in The Village of Heritage nursing home at Monroeville.
    He was born on December 17, 1910, near Dixon, Ohio, to James and Annie Lauri Stephenson Jones.
    Russell was the owner of Jones Skyriders Balloon Company and was also a tool-and-die maker and a farmer.
    Russell was a member of Antioch Lutheran Church in Hoagland and a volunteer worker at The Christmas Bureau and at Big Brother.
    Surviving are his wife for 69 years, the former Trilby M. Mueller, of Monroeville; one daughter, Joanne M. Jones of Griffith, Indiana; two sons,  David J. Jones (and wife Ann) of Zanesville, and Donald L. Jones of Hoagland; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Robert Jones, and two sisters, Eunice and Janet.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 30, in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home's Jacobs Chapel at Monroeville, with Rev. Tim Watt officiating.
    Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery at Hoagland.
    Visiting hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, and 10-11 a.m. Thursday, December 30, in Jacobs Chapel.
    Preferred memorials are to the overhang fund at The Village of Heritage.
