Rumor patrol: Arnold’s not closing, but is on the market

April 23, 2014

MISSING THE ROCK — Despite persistent rumors of its demise, Arnold’s Drive-In will remain open in Decatur for the near future. The “Rock” portion of the sign at the popular eatery was merely taken down for repairs earlier this week, owner Lori Collier said. Photo by Ashley Thieme

Arnolds Drive-In, a staple hot spot in Decatur, will not be closing anytime soon, owner-operator Lori Collier said Tuesday. But changes will be coming to the popular local eatery.
“Arnold’s is still a profitable mom-and-pop restaurant, even with the slumping economy over the previous four years,” Collier said. Nonetheless the restaurant owner said it is time for her to move on to a new restaurant adventure. Unwilling to release any final details of her plan at this time, Collier stated she intends to stay in the restaurant business, this time in Fort Wayne, and “roller skates are not involved.”
