Roy G. Schwartz

  Roy G. Schwartz, 88, of rural Decatur, died at 11 p.m. Sunday in Adams Memorial Hospital after having been in failing health for the past year. He was born on September 23, 1922, in Adams County to Dan D. and Leah Graber Schwartz. He married Rosena M. Burke on June 9, 1951; she survives. Roy retired from Decatur Industries as plant supervisor, with 40 years of service, and was an elder in the Decatur congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Doyle (Anna) Lehman and Mrs. Armando “Army” (Jane) Velasco of Berne. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and David Schwartz, and by one sister, Irene. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Randy Melching officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 4, in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Preferred memorials are to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
