Roof work begins at BHS gym

December 23, 2013

Wright Risk Insurers, the insurance carrier for North Adams Community Schools, has approved immediate replacement of the Bellmont High School gymnasium roof that was damaged when high-velocity, straight-line winds passed through the area last month. Work is to be undertaken during the Christmas break.
The Nov. 17 tornado outbreak across Indiana brought wind gusts reaching up to 58 mph, according to information retrieved from the www.wunderground.com website. According to North Adams Business Manager Larry Carty, the wind tore the membrane off the top of the roof, dislocating bricks and creating a crack down a brick wall.
