Adams Central's Derek Roe took the USA Indiana Folkstyle State 125-pound championship this past Saturday, emerging from a field of 22 wrestlers. He scored four wins to go with an opening round bye to earn the championship.

In the second round, Roe knocked off Alex Mix of DeKalb (wrestling club) 10-0, then the Adams Central state streeter knocked off Anthony Schoettle of the Center Grove Wrestling Club, 9-3.
In the semi-final round, Roe downed Grant Martsolf olf the Mishawaka Wrestling Club 3-1to earn his spot in the title bout.
Roe convincingly defeated David Ramirez of the Warren Central Wrestling Club by a 12-2 major to win the championship.
Derek will be wrestling in the Folkstyle Nationals with Team Indiana on April 1 in Iowa. Also participating in Nationals will be LJ Moser from Berne (South Adams Wrestling Club).
Roe has won well over 100 matches for Adams Central and qualified for the IHSAA State Finals this past season, earning a regional title along the way. He will be a senior this coming fall.
