Robert M. Teeple

    Robert M. Teeple, 91, of Decatur, died at 12:40 p.m. Friday at Woodcrest Retirement Community.
    He was born on January 15, 1920.
    He married Betty D. Zinsmaster on April 9, 1976; she passed away on January 17, 2003.
    Robert retired from the General Electric Co, plant in Decatur with 38 years of service and, afterward, enjoyed buying and selling antiques.    Robert was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and American Legion Post 43, both in Decatur, and the General Electric Quarter-Century Club.
    Robert served his country during World War II in the United States Army and was wounded in action on February 27, 1945, in Germany.
    Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Auer of Kissimmee, Florida; Mrs. Michael (Jill) Burke of Mooresboro, North Carolina; and Jackie Teeple (and Blanca Garcia) of Woodland, California; one stepson, Ron Frauhiger (and wife Janet) of Decatur; one brother, Albert Teeple Jr. (and wife Shirley) of Sun City, Arizona; two sisters, Esther Adams of Berne and Mrs. Jim (Patricia) Marks of Sun City, Arizona; his former wife, Vella Dawn Teeple Wasson of Decatur; five grandchildren, Robert Auer Jr., Damon Auer, Adam Auer, Chris Kukelhan, and Sam Kukelhan; and 10 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Raymond, and Wayne Teeple; three sisters, Jessie Grepke, Zella Haines, and Geraldine Teeple; and one grandson, Mark Auer, who died on December 29, 2001.
    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with burial in Tricker Cemetery, rural Monroe, including military graveside honors by the color guard from American Legion Post 43.
    Visiting hours are 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.
    Preferred memorials are to Pathways Adult Day Center in Decatur.
