Robert L. Beitler, 81, of Pendleton, Ind., passed away on February 11, 2013, at his residence.
He was born May 20, 1931, in Monroe, Ind., and resided most of his life in Pendleton.
Robert graduated from Monroe High School in 1949. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1990. He was a member of the Huntsville Community Church. Robert served his country in the United States Air Force. He owned several antique cars and enjoyed going to car shows. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with his wife, Julia, and socializing at The Diner in Pendleton.
Among survivors are his wife, Julia (Liechty) Beitler; son, Richard A. (Gloria) Beitler of Springfield, Mo.; three daughters, Karen (Mitchell) Kuhns and Amy Stults, both of Pendleton, and Lynda (Mr. Dana) Garrett of Indianapolis; two sisters, Pat (Harold) Arnold of Monroe, and Judy (Mike) Haney of Kendleville, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Harry Beitler, mother, Margaret Beitler, and a daughter, Dana Beitler.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, Indiana.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 15, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Lance Stevens officiating. Military Rites will be by VFW Post 266.
Burial will take place at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendelton.
Preferred memorials are to Huntsville Community Church.
