Robert E. Gavin

    Robert E. Gavin, 76, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012, at 2:43 a.m. in the Lutheran Hospital.
    He married Barbara J. (Burdg) Gavin on February 6, 1982 in Decatur; she survives in Decatur.
    Bob served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 43, Moose 1311, and VFW all in Decatur. He had worked for Yost Prestress, Automatic Sprinkler Corporation, and drove truck for ATL, until retiring in 2008.
    Among survivors are his daughter, Robin (Ray) Prior of Decatur; son, Robert (Julie) Gavin Jr. of Decatur; daughter, Rhonda (Jerry T.) Andrews of Decatur; stepson, Timothy Wolfe of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter, Karen Razo of Decatur; brother, Bill Gavin of Liberty Center; sister, Betty Abenath of Huntington; seven grandchildren, Joe (Teresa) Fuhrman, Connie Fuhrman, Lindsey (Andrew) Stimpson, Brice Gavin, Katie (Zach) Neuenschwander, Kirstie and Kole Andrews; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Abigail Fuhrman, Colten Stimpson; and four stepgrandchildren, Brandon, Jenna, Ty, and Jamie Razo.
    Visitation will be from noon-5 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home.   
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 17, also at the funeral home.
    Burial will be in MRE Cemetery, rural Berne.
    Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Post 43 Color Guard.
