    And then came the rain.
Following several days of sunny skies and warm weather, Adams County residents awoke Thursday to an onslaught of rain that didn’t let up, dumping 1.84 inches of liquid sunshine throughout the area.
The National Weather Service issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for Adams and surrounding counties as heavy rain caused minor flooding on highways, underpasses, country roads and farmland running along the banks of creeks and streams.
Following on the heels of that warning, the NWS issued a flood warning for the St. Marys River from this morning until further notice.
