Rita A. Moore, 81, of Bluffton, passed away at 9 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at River Terrace Estates.
Rita was born May 4, 1931, in Decatur to Robert L. Osterman and Virginia R. (Keller) Osterman. She married David E. Moore on June 5, 1954 in Decatur; he survives.
Rita graduated from Decatur Catholic High School in 1949. She was employed as a waitress at the Dutch Mill for 30-plus years until it burned down. She also worked at CVS and Dollar General as a sales associate. Rita was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bluffton.
In addition to her husband, Rita is survived by one son, Phillip D. (Linda) Moore of Fort Wayne; three daughters, Nancy A. (Dwight) Baker of Bluffton, Julia A. Tobias of Bluffton, and Teresa A. (Nick) Camacho of Hobart; one granddaughter, Mercedes (Brian) Moore of Chicago, Illinois; one grandson, Jaden Camacho of Hobart, one sister, Patricia (Steve) Spoltman of Fort Wayne. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Osterman, and three sisters, Janet Adams, Nita Gidley and Julie Gilles.
It was Rita’s wish to be cremated. Her family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, in the Chapel at River Terrace Estates. A funeral mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 26,at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Francis Chukwuma officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church. Burial will follow in the Marion National Veteran Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.
Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, that memorial gifts be made to Family LifeCare.
