    Rita M. Vargas, 73, Wren, Ohio, passed away on December 26, 2012.
    Rita was born to the late Isaac and Alejandra (Guerrero) Mendez.
    Among survivors are her husband, David A. Vargas of Wren; three daughters, Lydia (Jesus) Rodriguez and Alicia Roman, both of Decatur, and Sara (Gary) Manes of Fort Wayne; son, Andrew Vargas of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Paul (Dolores) Mendez and Blas (Sarah) Mendez, both of Decatur; sister, Connie (Richard) Moreno of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren, Lindsey Johnston, Logan, Vanessa, and Briana Barger, Danielle (Tony) Guin, Vincent Roman, Mitchell Vargas, Claire, and London Manes; and three great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel A. Vargas; five sisters and two brothers.
    Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. today at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.  A rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 29, in the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Dave Voors officiating.
    Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Decatur.
