Revenue dips, but hospital’s still in black

March 29, 2013

A financial statement released Wednesday night at the monthly meeting of the Adams Health Network's (AHN) Board of Trustee showed that despite a reduced revenue figure in February, Adams Memorial Hospital (AMH) officials still fashioned a positive bottom line to date this year, to the tune of $579,365.
Several factors figured into that number, according to AHN Chief Financial Officer Dane Wheeler, with one of the main factors being that the hospital has had nearly $900,000 fewer total operating expenses at this point in the year as what had been budgeted ($6,625,235 vs. $7,523,411).
Wheeler also announced that the hospital has recently received two big checks totaling about $482,000. He said the hospital was given a "donation" of $312,000 that will partially offset a huge $600,000 hospital tax imposed last year.
