Rev. Fr. Lawrence Heiman

    Rev. Fr. Lawrence Heiman, C.PP.S., 94, of St Charles Center in Carthagena, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012.    Fr. Larry was born on August 24, 1917, in Decatur, to the late John and Anna Heimann. 
    He was a member of the order of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and was a Dr. of Music and Art at St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Ind. 
    He was the founder of the Liturgical Music Program at St. Joseph's and was internationally known for his work and knowledge of Gregorian Chant.
     Survivors include his sister, Irene Hamrick of Decatur and numerous nieces and nephews. 
    Fr. Larry was preceded in death by three brothers, Fr. Ambrose Heimann, C.PP.S.; Edward and Richard Heimann.
     A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 29, at 2 p.m. at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, Ohio, with visitation from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., prior to Mass.
