Residents are invited to welcome home returning Honor Flight veterans

    Honor Flight Northeast Indiana will make its 12th flight to Washington D.C. Wednesday. New this year is the opportunity for the public to proudly welcome home veterans at the Fort Wayne International Airport that evening.
    The flight will depart from the 122nd Fighter Wing Base at approximately 7:30 a.m. A full day of visiting the capitol’s monuments is planned. According to a press release from the Honor Flight Northeast Indiana organization, of the 70 Veterans on the trip, 36 of them are over the age of 90. Bob Myer, president of Honor Flight Northeast Indiana, stated, “It’s also inspiring that we have six women coming on this flight, more than any previous flight. One of the ladies is 93 years old and served in both World War II and the Korean War.”
