Rella M. Baker

    Rella M. Baker, 87, of Tipp City and New Carlisle, Ohio, formerly of Wells County, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013.
    She was born on August 29, 1925, in Sullivan, Ohio, to the late Marvin E. and Violet E. (Baker) Bennett.
    Rella worked as a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Carlisle, Fort Wayne St. Therese Catholic Church, VFW 1421 Auxiliary and sponsored Jr. Girls Auxiliary of the VFW for a number of years.
    Among survivors are four daughters, Brenda (Robert) Neff of New Carlisle, Sharon (Michael) Till of Tipp City, Anna (Jim) Spalding of Ossian, and Mary Kracium of Centerville, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Baker, in 1987; son, Robert D. Mercer; two grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
    Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
    A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
    A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 18, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne.
    Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Decatur.
    Preferred memorials are to Hospice of Dayton.
