Raymond J. Rolston

    Raymond J. Rolston, Jr., 86, Decatur, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital.
    He was born Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1926, in Decatur to the late Raymond and Molly Mae (Derringer) Rolston Sr. He married Betty J. Jarmon Jan. 13, 1948 in Decatur; she survives.
    Raymond served in the United States Army as a medic during World War II, being deployed to the Philippine Islands in the Pacific Theater. He was scheduled to participate in the invasion of the Japanese home island when the war ended. Raymond was a member of American Legion Post 43 and the Sons of the American Revolution (SOAR). He retired from Centra Soya's maintenance department.
    He is survived by four daughters,Vickie Jackson, Nancy (Dave) Mosure and Rose (Rick) Hoover, all of Decatur, and Barbara (Mike) Bodle of Ossian; six grandchildren, Glen Hitchcock, Katheren (Jim) Thatcher, Lisa Gase, Tina (Jim) Marbach, Scott Mosure and Ering Hoover; and 19 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Rolston and a sister, Rosie Iretta Rolston.
    Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 also at the funeral home with Molly Farthing officiating.
    Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery with Military Graveside services by American Legion Post 43.
    Preferred memorials are to the Wounded Warrior Project.
