    Raymond "Ray" Conrad, 76, Decatur, passed away at his residence March 20, 2014.
    He was born April 16, 1937 in Allen County to Roy and Helen (Schroeder) Conrad.
    He married Karin (Ohm) Conrad Oct. 30, 1958, in Berlin, Germany.
    Ray served his country from 1955-1959. After being honorably discharged, “Uncle Ray” bartended at the Back 40 Restaurant for 13 years. Following that, Ray became co-owner of the Rheinlander with his wife, Karin, and his Uncle Poodle and Willie Schroeder from 1976-1992.
    “Uncle Ray” was very blessed with a wonderful family and many, many wonderful friends.
    Surviving are a his wife of 55 years, Karin, son, Tom "TC" (Joe Macklin) Conrad; two daughters Monica "Moni" (Conrad) Hall and Christina Marie (Jim) Teeple, all of Decatur. They were blessed with six grandchildren, Jesse (Melissa) Kelley; Tommie (Danielle) Conrad; Breona (Joshua) Murphy; Nadia (Bob Epsy) Hall; Jamee and David Teeple; five great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; a sister Irene (Conrad) Grote; and two brothers, Al and Dick Conrad.
    Preceding him in death were a brother, Carl and sister, Donna.
    There will be no viewing or funeral per Ray’s wishes. In honor of Ray’s last request, there will be a wake in his honor at Vinnie’s Bar from 2-8 p.m. Sunday. Anyone wanting to toast Ray one last time, please stop by!
