Raymond B. Schultz, 90, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
He was born in Adams County on October 30, 1922, to the late Julius C. and Isabel (Bernard) Schultz.
Raymond married M. Maxine Steigmeyer on May 6, 1947.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and of its Holy Name Society, and was also a member of the Moose Lodge 1311. He retired in 1981 from Teeple Truck Line after 32 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maxine Schultz of Decatur; three sons, Richard J. (Anita) Schultz of Monroe, Don P. (Amy) Schultz, and Gregg L. (Tami) Schultz both of Decatur; a daughter, Cathie A. Davis of Decatur; three sisters, Mary C. Geimer, Vera L. Rauch, and Julia Ann Heimann, all of Decatur; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 4 p.m.
A 9:20 a.m. prayer service will be held on Monday, November 26, also at the funeral home, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Father David Voors will be presiding.
Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to St. Joseph Catholic School or Adams County Council on Aging.
