Ray O. Brown, 77, of Berne, died at his residence on Friday, June 22, 2012.
He was born on August 22, 1934, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to the late Orlan W. and Laure (Sovine) Brown.
Ray served in the United States Navy for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 468 in Berne, and VFW Post 6236 in Decatur.
Among survivors are his son, Ray Orlan Brown Jr. of Maple Valley, Wash., and daughter, Anna M. Lane of Federal Way, Was.; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon on Friday, June 29, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Graveside services also will be on Friday, at 12:15 p.m., at the Ray Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post 468 Berne.
Preferred memorials are to American Cancer Society.
