Ralph Kenworthy dies at age of 107

January 28, 2013

Ralph Kenworthy, 107, believed to be Decatur's oldest resident — and probably Adams County's — died Sunday.
Kenworthy had observed his 107th birthday on January 6.
Arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Kenworthy was born in Camden, Ohio, but lived most of his life in Decatur.
He bore witness to two of the most devastating floods to hit Northeast Indiana, the first in 1913, and the record breaking flood of 2003.
"I never thought I'd see anything like that (the 1913 flood) again," he told the Daily Democrat's Jannaya Andrews for a story which appeared in this newspaper just over a year ago. "It's just a horrible thing."
His wife, Jane, died about five years ago.
