Ralph J. "Buck" Myers, 86, of Monroeville, passed away early morning on Friday, October 12, 2012, at the Village of Heritage, Monroeville.
He was born in Monroeville on Saturday, January 30, 1926, to the late Ralph H. and Miriam M. (Meese) Myers.
Ralph married Irene Kay Andress on June 20, 1948; she survives.
He was a member of the Monroeville United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 420 and the VFW Post 10205. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Ralph retired in 1976 with over 32 years of service at International Harvester, where he was a production worker and a mechanic.
Among survivors are his wife of 64 years, Irene Kay Myers of Monroeville; daughters, Nanette Kay Myers of Corpus Christi, Texas; Kimberly Fay (Greg) Smith of Decatur; Melissa Renee Garman of Huntertown; Melinda Rae (Kurt) Bleke of Fort Wayne; son, Timothy Jay (Tina) Myers of Monroeville; sisters, Phyllis Chausse of Monroeville; Harriet (Edwin) Beucler of Monroeville; and Kay Weddle of Nashville, Ind.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Justice; and four brothers, Jackie, Toby, Jed, and Max Myers.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 15, in the Monroeville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mark Walus and Rev. Rick Pickering officiating. Burial will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion Post 420, Monroeville Color Guard.
Preferred memorials are to Monroeville United Methodist Church or Cornerstone Youth Center.
