Rain, rain go away seems to be the new mantra for area athletic directors as they scramble to reschedule events postponed due to recent rainy weather.
Bellmont has had to alter its schedule somewhat this week to accommodate NHC contests and will now host Columbia City on Friday instead of South Adams at 5 p.m. A new date for the BHS-SA game has not yet been determined.
Other games at Bellmont for tonight are still on tap, weather permitting, although school officials said they will be busy pumping water from an area near the diamond so that players and fans have access to the field.
At South Adams, the softball game slated this past Monday with Adams Central is now set for May 12 and a postponed softball tilt with Randolph Southern will now be hosted by the Starfires on May 18. A scheduled junior varsity softball game with North Side tonight has been cancelled since the Redskins' field is under water.
Other South Adams events for tonight including home softball and baseball games with Leo and a tennis match at Jay County are still on tap for today, weather permitting.
