Mother Nature did her part as a large crowd in a festive mood turned out on Thursday night for the city's annual Fourth of July celebration.
A few off and on sprinkles were all the crowd had to deal with, but the rain picked up within moments of a great Grand Finale which wound up the 21-minute display.
Command Ssgt. Major Fritz Bultemeyer, Adams County's Service Officer, was the featured speaker.
In a special ceremony, he service record of the late Spec. Nick Taylor of Berne was transfered to "Post Everlasting" in a ceremony led by local American Legion Post 43 Commander Jan Smith.
