The rain just keeps on coming ... and the river is beginning to rise.
The Decatur weather station recorded .56 of an inch of rain on Monday, giving the city some 2.8 inches of rain in the past nine days — with more expected today.
A total of 1.8 inches of rain has fallen here in the last three days, and the St. Marys River is beginning to edge up, reaching 11.8 feet this morning. That's far short of its flood stage, of course, but further rain could push it higher.
The National Weather Service said more showers were likely in the Decatur area before noon today.
