Monday's Memorial Day program, held at the Adams County Veterans Memorial in Berne, was a proud presentation.
There were about 50 people in attendance, and those people included veterans of all ages, whether participating in the program or not. The colors were presented as American Legion Post 43 Bugler David Rice played the bugle, followed by Britney Hernandez and Sidney Sprunger singing the National Anthem.
American Legion Post 43 Chaplain Carl Thieme opened with a word of prayer, thanking God for the privileges enjoyed in America because of the brave soldiers who have fought for freedom. Then wreaths were placed at the graves of soldiers from each war America has fought.
