Pauline Huppert

    Pauline C. “Polly” Huppert, 87, of Decatur, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    Polly was born August 1, 1925, in Helena, Ark., to the late Paul B. and Virginia M. (Johnson) Collier.
    She married Fred R. Huppert on June 18, 1947; he preceded her in death in 1988.
    Polly was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was past president of United Methodist Women and member of the Alpha & Omega Sunday School class. She was involved with the Adams County Cancer Society and Decatur Bridge Marathon.
    She was a graduate of Stephens College and Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. She was a homemaker and retired school teacher.
    Among survivors are her daughter, Mrs. Christy C. (Donald) Robb of Brownsburg, Ind.; two granddaughters, Sally Davidson and Nancy Blanchard, both of Indianapolis; and five great-grandchildren.
    Polly was preceded in death by her son, John R. Huppert, in 1988.
    Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, and 10-11 a.m. Monday, July 5, at First United Methodist Church.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, also at the church, with Rev. Amy Covington officiating.
    Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to First United Methodist Church, or to Stephens College in Columbia, Mo.
