Paul E. Cornett, 54, of Decatur, died at 10:21 a.m. Tuesday at his residence.
He was born to Willie and Betsy Mae McQueen Cornett, who are deceased.
Surviving are his former wife, Bonnie Marshall Cornett of Decatur; three sons, Chad Cornett (and wife Linda), Bryan Cornett (and wife Christine), and Niclas Cornett (financee Kessikah Worth), all of Decatur; one daughter, Joni Cornett of Decatur; one sister, Bernice Knittle of Decatur; three brothers, George Cornett of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Harold and Dean Cornett of Decatur; one half-sister, Carla Scott of Cullman, Alabama; his former son-in-law, Ben Kolter of Decatur; and nine grandchildren, who were his world.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Decatur Church of God, with burial in Decatur Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday in the church.
Preferred memorials are to his grandchildren's education fund or to Decatur Church of God.
