Patriots’ swimmers defeat Central girls

    PORTLAND—Jay County sank Adams Central, 221-80, in girls' varsity swimming on Monday.
    One-meter diving—(1) Megan Taylor (JC), 182.2. AC's Alisen Barger was third at 126.8.
    200-yard medley relay—(1) JC, 2:01.54 (Charlotte Becot, Eme Miller, Mary Hudson, Caitlin Mark). AC was third, fourth, and fifth. The third-place team included YuLeeza McCullough, Ali McClain, Whitney Landis, and Barger.
    200-yard freestyle—(1) Elaine Hemmelgarn (JC), 2:25.97. McCullough was second at 2:26.04.
    200-yard individual medley—(1) Miller (JC), 2:32.14. AC's Sydnee Reinhard was third in 2:53.26.
    50-yard freestyle—(1) Becot (JC), 27.17. McClain was second at 27.31.
    100-yard butterfly—(1) McClain (AC), 1:09.37.
    100-yard freestyle—(1) Mark (JC), 1:01.16. Landis was second at 1:08.34.
    500-yard freestyle—(1) Hudson (JC), 6:21.03. JC was also second, third, and fourth.
    200-yard freestyle relay—(1) JC, 1:54.79 (Mark, Miller, Hemmelgarn, Jocelyn Mann). AC was second at 1:58.79 (McClain, Landis, Barger, Reinhard).
    100-yard backstroke—(1) Becot (JC), 1:07.59. AC's Kendra Kauffman was fourth at 1:23.85.
    100-yard breaststroke—(1) Hemmelgarn (JC), 1:17.92. Landis was third in 1:20.86.
    400-yard freestyle relay—(1) JC, 4:25.83 (Hudson, Becot, Alyson Lucas, Marissa Murrell). AC was fourth at 5:51.43 (Dusty Gremaux, Tori McSwain, Laura Cook, Anna Wellman).
