Patricia R. (Patty) Vergara, 69, of Decatur, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Patty was born on July 19, 1944, in Adams County to the late John A. and Marcella F. (Keller) Loshe.
Patty was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Patty retired in 2010 after 33 ½ years of service with the City of Decatur as deputy clerk treasurer.
Survivors include her two sons, Randy (Jessie) Burkhart of Decatur and Donny (Tara) Burkhart of Fort Wayne; a sister Catherine “Kate” Loshe of Decatur; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dale E. Burkhart; her second husband, Anthony Vergara; and a brother, Eugene Loshe.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home. Reciting of the Holy Rosary will be at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will also be from 9-10 a.m. Friday at the St. Mary’s Parish Hall.
A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father David Voors officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are to St. Joseph Catholic School.
