Patricia M. Tinkham
Patricia M. Tinkham, 83, of rural Monroe, died at 4:45 a.m. Monday in Adams Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Decatur on May 6, 1928, to Brenton and Ethel Turner Williams.
She married Maurice LeRoy Tinkham; he preceded her in death on January 16, 1969.
She was a homemaker, a farmer, and a former employee of Hammond's Grocery Store and Val Department Store, both in Decatur.
She was a member of Salem Community Church, rural Monroe, and a former member of the Pleasant Mills Lions Club, of which she was the first female president as well as the first female president of a Lions Club chapter in Indiana.
Surviving are two sons, Don Tinkham (and wife Beth) of New Haven and David Tinkham of Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Grover (Nancy) Heckert of Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Bob (Phyllis) Sudduth of Angola; 10 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tina Godla-Tinkham; a brother, Russell Williams; a sister, Mildred Wallace; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Pastor Jim Compton officiating.
Burial will be in Tricker Cemetery, rural Monroe.
Visiting hours are noon-4 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. on Friday and 9-10 a.m. on Saturday.
Preferred memorials are to Salem Community Church or to the Monroe Fire Department.
