Paddlin' along

It’s hard work to paddle a boat, as two students in the Advanced Manufacturing class at Bellmont High School found out when propelling a pontoon boat built by the class on Kekionga Lake at the southeast edge of Decatur. The class has 11 members and is led by teacher Catherine Sondgerath. This was the third time the craft had been in the water. In the yellow life jacket is junior-to-be Quentin Geels and in the black lifejacket is senior-to-be Anthony Bertsch. The vessel has a wooden superstructure and four plastic barrels to stay afloat.
