Celebrity singer Tony Orlando stopped in for a meal at Richard's Restaurant in Decatur on Friday after performing at Bearcreek Farms.
He also purchased an oil painting by local artist Sandy Abel, who is a student of Bonnie Schultz at the North Adams Arts Council. Orlando told restaurant manager and arts supporter Andy Gay that the painting is meaningful to him because monarch butterflies land on his property in Branson, Mo. when they migrate ever year.
Orlando left a signed menu for the artist of the painting.
The North Adams Arts Council has an exhibit of oil paintings by local artists on display and for sale at the restaurant.
