Nyla M. Wiehe

    Nyla M. Wiehe, 84, formerly of Decatur, died at 9:17 a.m. Wednesday in The Village of Heritage nursing home at Monroeville.
    She was born on May 29, 1927, in Adams County to John F. and Effie J. Teeter Morningstar.
    She married Paul L. Wilkinson on March 22, 1952; but he passed away on February 4, 1984. On August 7, 1994, she married Edward L. Wiehe in Decatur; he survives.
    She was employed at the General Electric Corp. plant in Decatur for 41 years.
    She was a member of Decatur Church of Christ, where she was the pianist for more than 30 years. She was a member of the General Electric Retirees, the O.N.O. Club, and the auxiliary unit at American Legion Post 43 in Decatur, and was a former member of Moose Lodge 1311 in Decatur.
    Other survivors are one daughter, Paula N. Hutchison of Elkhart; two sons, Gregory L. Wilkinson and Leslie G. Wilkinson (and wife Marla), both of Elkhart; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Bruce (Patsy Jo) Myers of Monroeville; three stepsons, Byron K. Wiehe (and wife Karen) of Sorrento, Florida; Gregory M. Wiehe (and wife Melissa) of Grabill; and Glen Wiehe (and wife Oralia) of Conroe, Texas; one brother, Virgil Morningstar (and wife Agnes) of Fort Wayne; one sister, Mrs. Claude (Virginia Ruth) Foreman of Ossian; four grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by three brothers, Theodore, Chester, and Gerald Morningstar. Three sisters are also deceased: Mildred Schindler, Augusta Butcher, and Dorotha Morningstar.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Revs. Gary Johnson and David Rea officiating.
    Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
    Visiting hours are 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and 10-11 a.m. Saturday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.
    Preferred memorials are to Decatur Church of Christ, The Village of Heritage, and Family Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeast Indiana at Berne.
