The Bellmont Girls Golf Invitational was captured by Norwell Wednesday at the Cross Creek Golf Course with the Knights taking just 381 shots to outdistance second place Canterbury with 393.
Finishing in third place was Angola at 400 as they squeezed out fourth place Bellmont by one stroke at 401. Other participating teams included Bishop Luers 416, and Leo 435.
The medalist for the 18-hole event was Jaycee Bunner of Blackhawk Christian with a 76 but unfortunately she had no other teammates and the Braves were not in contention for the team title. Bunner's round included an eagle three on the par five ninth hole as she finished the front nine in one-under fashion at 35.
Lily Barker of Leo was second overall at 84 while both Hannah Porrata of Norwell and Sarah Stroup of Canterbury posted scores of 85 to be tied for third. Others breaking 100 on the day included Abbey Berg 92 and Jaclyn Sicler 97 of Canterbury, Megan Evans 89 of Norwell, Hannah Var 89 and Hailey Dykstra 92 of Angola, and Macy Phegley and Rachel Klingensmith of Bellmont with rounds of 98 and 99 respectively.
Joining Phegley and Klingensmith on the links for the Squaws were Corrinne Bussel 101, Amber Fuhrman 103, and Julia Brewer 116.
