North Adams k-garten roundup slated April 19

    North Adams Schools will hold its annual Kindergarten Roundup from 4:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, at Southeast School. Children who turn five years of age on or before August 1 are eligible to enroll for the 2012-13 school year.
    Parents must bring a copy of their child's immunization record, birth certificate and Social Security number on April 19. Registration packets are currently available at the North Adams administration building.
    Parents who cannot attend the Roundup are asked to call the school.
    Also to be offered that day, according to an announcement from school officials,  will be free fingerprinting and photos, courtesy of the Adams County Sheriff's Department and the local Red Cross chapter; hearing screenings for children and adults, provided by the Union Township Lions Club; and "goodie bags" provided by Adams Memorial Hospital.

St. Joe registration
    St. Joseph School has announced that it will have open registration for the 2012-13 school year for kindergarten through eighth grades.
    Informational registration meetings for grades 1-8 are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, and Wednesday, March 14, in the school auditorium. 
    Kindergarten registration will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, in the auditorium. Parents are asked to bring copies of their child's immunization records, birth certificate, Social Security number and a copy of their baptismal certificate (if not baptized at St. Mary's).
    The preschool and daycare open house and registration for new families is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4. It is requested that guests enter Door No. 2.
