North Adams brings back Brent Lehman

April 10, 2013

Former Bellmont High School assistant principal Brent Lehman, a 34-year veteran educator and lifelong Adams County resident, was introduced Tuesday evening as the new superintendent at North Adams Community Schools.
Lehman was one of 10 applicants and five finalists for the position and will succeed Dr. Wylie Sirk when Sirk's retirement takes effect on July 1.
The North Adams school board met in executive session beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, and at 6 p.m. convened in a special session at Bellmont Middle School to formally vote on the selection of Lehman as its new superintendent of schools.
Board President Michelle Stimpson said the board was "very, very pleased" with the pool of applicants for the superintendent's job.
