North Adams BOE meets Tuesday

The North Adams Community Schools’ board of education will convene for their monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the district administrative building, 625 Stadium Dr., Decatur.
Four retirements notices will be acted upon by the board. Diane Patch, Northwest Elementary instructional aide, will retire after 27 years of service. Linda Wurm will retire from the food service department after 18 years; Teresa Mere will retire as a Northwest Elementary instructional aide after 20 years; and Flava Sirk will retire as a Bellmont High School teacher after nine years of service to North Adams.
Aaron Baker has been recommended for the position of Southeast Elementary principal beginning the 2014-15 school year and Elizabeth Tamulewicz has been recommended for the position of school psychologist.
