Nick L. Secaur

    Nick L. Secaur, 75, of Decatur, passed away at 3:12 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at his residence.
    Nick was born Monday, January 17, 1938, in Adams County, to the late Kenneth and Lucille (DeBolt) Secaur.
    He married Carla Snyder on July 11, 1959; she passed away March 13, 2001. He married Karen Heckert on November 23, 2002, at the New Life Fellowship Church in Decatur; she survives.
    Nick was involved with LOVE, Inc., and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Nick enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, and computers. Nick graduated from Decatur High School and was a police officer for the City of Decatur for 20 years. After his retirement from the police department, he continued to work for Adams County for 15 years.
    Among survivors are his daughter, Terri A. Schloss of Sevierville, Tenn.; son, Jody A. (companion Gloria Hatcher) Secaur of Sevierville, Tenn.; three stepdaughters, Bobbie (Damion) Lucas of Howe, Ind., and Tonya (David) Clevenger, and Danette (Chad) Vongunten, both of Berne; six grandchildren; and nine stepgrandchildren.
    Nick was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Secaur.
    Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, also at the funeral home, with Funeral Celebrant Molly Farthing officiating.
    Burial will follow in Salem U.C.C. Cemetery in Magley.
