New water line will boost pressure in area around Southeast school

November 14, 2013

North Adams Community School board heard a request Tuesday night from Nate Rumschlag, city of Decatur Engineer and storm water superintendent, for a utility easement near Southeast Elementary School that is necessary as part of a city water line replacement project in the neighborhood around the property.
The land in question required for the easement is part of the Southeast School property but is not owned by the school district, Rumschlag said.
Currently the water pressure and water quality for homes on Everhart, McBarns and Bush streets is sub-par, he said, and the renovation will help residents and the school with water pressure and quality.
