The Hoosier CO Inc. of Indianapolis has torn up curbs on Monroe St. intersections at four locations in Decatur prior to replacing overhead traffic lights, an Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) project.
The lights at First, Second, Third and Fifth will be replaced, improving traffic flow, INDOT officials have told city officials.
The curbs are being torn up in order to put down new electrical equipment used by the lilghts.
INDOT will maintain traffic when the lights are being dismantled, one intersection at a time. April 3 is the target date for completion.
